Our kraft paper carrier bags are widely accepted in UK paper/card recycling if they are clean and dry. They are recyclable, plastic-free and plain kraft is also biodegradable. Paper carrier bags are generally exempt from the plastic bag charge in England, so most shops can hand them out at the till without a bag fee.

Most plain brown kraft paper bags and many white kraft bags can go in normal UK paper/card recycling if they are clean and dry. Bags with glitter, lamination or holographic finish may not be accepted everywhere, so please check local council guidance or see Recycle Now.
Plain kraft paper is naturally biodegradable and will break down over time. Coloured or coated gift bags can take longer, so we only claim “biodegradable” for our plain kraft range. We avoid blanket “100% biodegradable” claims for every style because some finishes slow the breakdown.
Our brown kraft paper carrier bags with handles are widely used to carry boxed or wrapped hot food, deli items and bakery goods. For direct contact with oily or wet food, we recommend adding a greaseproof liner inside the bag.
The twisted handles are reinforced with an internal patch and colour-matched to the bag for a clean retail look. The 100 gsm kraft paper is tough and typically carries up to 8 kg in normal boutique / café / street-food use.
